Arrr! Me bottle o' rum is empty!

A few hours ago i finally found my way home, after an evening/night/morning of enjoying the bottle of rum i mentioned yesterday. Actually i enjoyed a bit of brandy and a solid amount of gin too, and probably some beer that i dont remember, so this morning i was feeling a bit sub-standard. But thanks to my pill in shining armor, Zyrtec, the hangover was pretty much reduced to hunger. I dont know exactly what happened, but i woke up with some serious hunger pains, even though i had eaten a few hours before. I think.

Me, this morning, feeling the way i look:

But i just dont go around drinking myself senseless, for no reason, no sirree! On monday Hovlandn will ship out to Stavanger and spend the compulsory year in the army. If they want him, that is.
So all the drinking was kind of a bye-bye party for him, as well as my last party in Sogndal, or Norway for that matter. So it was me, Hovlandn, Silje and her brother and his girlfriend. What we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality!

As usual, i totally forgot to take pictures, but trust me; A party in Sogndal city aint half as hot as it sounds!

New do, and tickets arriving!

Woohoo, Today my ticket for Melbourne arrived! That means that everything is locked and loaded from here on out.
Unless im reading the departure and arrival times wrong, we have a fair deal of flying ahead of us.

Ticket, check.
VISA, check.
Passport, check.
Twisting my way out of the army, check.
Free money from the government, check.

Oh, and as promised, i cut my hair today, long overdue. Not sure how happy i am with it, probably have to use about a ton of wax to get it to sit right.
And while i was sitting in the chair, and getting my hair washed, the jungel telegraph told everybody in the salon that a parking cop (meter maid?) was just around the corner. So one of the stylists had to run out of the salon and buy tickets for everybody that was in there, including me.
Im just happy that the stylist was honest, because later on when i got in my car, i discovered i had left me cell and a newly purchased bottle of rum there. If i my rum had been gone, i probably would have commited seppuku.

Attack of the lurker quality movies!

If you have about the same level of interest in movies like me, every once in a while, you stumble upon movies that takes you totally by surprise and blows you away. This especially happens with old movies that you have absolutely have no faith in, but watch merely because you need something to fall asleep to. I still remember when i first saw 12 Angry Men without expectations, and that rose to become my favorite movie of all time!

Well, this happened again the other day. I was hung over and needed a movie to sooth my pains (actually, if you are taking allergy pills like i do when i drink, you dont get hung over, but i needed a nice intro for this sentence, so what the hell:)), and the only semi-interesting thing i could get my hands on was a science-fiction flick from 1971, The Andromeda Strain.
Its about a team of scientist trying to solve the mystery of a bacteria from space attacking earth.
I know, it sounds pretty 1950's and starts of kinda slow, but in the end it had me gripping a pillow so hard i was afraid to tear it to shreds! Exiting like few!

It actually seemed like the theory and scientific explanations that the movie presented, was pretty correct (from what i know, and thats not much). A couple of big universities and some other science places was also credited in the movie, CalTech among others.
Probably not coming to a cinema near you, so get your hands on this some other way.

A result of boredom - The first post

Hi. Im Vegard. This is my first attempt at blogging. Originally, i meant to start blogging when i leave for Melbourne on the 22. of January, but i still have a couple of weeks left before departure, and no way to spend the time.

In short, i am bored, and will continue to be bored to pieces for a couple of weeks.

This is Sogndal, Norway. I grew up here, and its here that i am currently bored:

Sogndal is actually pretty ok, for short periods of time, that is. Ive been sleeping on my parents` couch for six months now, and Sogndal stopped being ok a while ago.

And this is me (im getting a haircut tomorrow, stop bitchin):

As i said above, im going to Melbourne to finish my Bachelors degree in Bla-bla-something-design. I wont be traveling alone though, ill have 4 friends from my former school with me; KristÄffer, Benedikte, Margrethe and Camilla.

CRAP! I have been staring at this last line of text for five minutes now, and every time i have something to write down, i get distracted by CSI: Miami. My god, Horatio Kane (David Caruso`s character) looks retarded when tilting his head and making a smart-ass comment just before the opening credits of every episode. How can anyone take the stuff he says serious? "I might just do that.", "Well, HE didnt think so.".

Well anyways, me and my friends probably gonna end up living together when we get settled down under. But i have a lurking sensation that mixing bouys and gulls is gonna end up in a messy, cleaning-nagging hell.

Im hoping to be documenting my trip and my stay in Australia on this blog, but since i have serious problems finishing things i dont get paid for, all bets are off!
